Grant Burge Barossa Vines Shiraz (1999)

While the aim has been to produce a fruit-driven dry red that is immediately soft and drinkable, this wine has the structure to cellar well for at least five years. The bouquet shows lifted shiraz spiciness and dark berryfruit characters, and oak flavours that are well integrated. The rich berryfruit characters continue on to the palate, with the oak adding complexity and the soft, fleshy characters surrounding a backbone of firm tannin. (Reviewed by Grant Burge)

Summit Estate Stanthorpe Wine Company Emily Rose (2000)

Unusual blend of two white grapes (Chardonnay and Semillon) and two red grape varieties (Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon). Distinct vanilla and caramel flavours with cinnamon and nutmeg finish. Perfect chilled with salad and cold meats or with stir-fry or spice foods. Drink now. (Reviewed by The Winemaker)

Coldstream Hills Reserve Pinot Noir (1997)

There are some fantastic pinots coming out of the Yarra Valley from the 1997 vintage. This one is slightly ahead of its compatriots because of some lovely oak and cellaring potential. (Reviewed by Vogue Entertaining, Nov 1998)
